This week we learned about friendship and being a good friend. We read many stories to show a variety of roles in
social situations. The stories we read this week centered around the book, The Rainbow
Fish.
Centers
Language Arts- Sight word bingo and Letter memory games!
Math-
Counting fish in the fishbowl using one to one correspondence. Also, the
children created their own word problem stories practicing the skills of
subtraction and addition. They enjoyed
telling me their creative stories as well and challenged me to solve them!
Art- This
week the kiddos made two art projects focusing on friendship characteristics. Using colorful tissue paper, they made a
rainbow fish similar to the one in the story.
The children each shard one good trait about another friend. These fish can be seen on the inside bulletin
board. Take a look!
Next, the children practiced
their fine motor skills cutting out petals to make a friendship flower. On the petals, they wrote or dictated what being a good friend looks like.
Fine motor- Weaving
and cutting exercises
