This week we explored the importance of community helpers!  We learned about a dentist and how to keep our teeth clean. Also, we talked about firefighters and fire safety.  Here is a look at the activities the PK kiddos participated in this week!

Centers

We used our imaginations to pretend we were dentists and used our tools to count out teeth (marshmallows) to help our patients.

The PK children worked together to paint a community mural. Together they planned a fire station, a school, police office, construction site and emergency vehicles on the road. They started by painting the road and then adding in these important places!  It was fun to see how well they listened to each other and worked together.

In Language Arts, the children read a book, Helpers, and went on a letter hunt. These books go home with the children and they can be a good tool to reinforce skills at home!

In Spanish, the children created a friendship quilt. It is displayed in the classroom, so take a look!

Working on a puzzle together!

Ms. Adams let the children create their own community helper.
