This week we learned about friendship and ways
to be a good friend. We read many stories to show a variety of roles in social
situations. The stories we read this week centered around the book, The
Rainbow Fish.
Centers
Language Arts- Picture and
letter sort.
Math- The children played a
fishing game where they picked a number and had to feed their fish to
correspond with that number. Also, the children created their own word problem
stories practicing the skills of subtraction and addition. They enjoyed telling me their creative
stories as well and challenged me to solve them!
Art- This week the kiddos
made two art projects focusing on friendship characteristics. Using colorful tissue paper, they made a
rainbow fish similar to the one in the story.
The children each shared one good trait about another friend.
Next, the children practiced their fine motor
skills cutting out petals to make a friendship flower. On the petals, they wrote or dictated what
being a good friend looks like.
Fine motor- Weaving and

P.E- The children are
practicing a variety of skills (tumbling, balancing and core strength) getting
ready for their upcoming Palio Show on Friday, March 17.
